Songs are birthed in many different ways. A few of mine, like “Mercy Is
Falling” have just spilled out of me in the environment of gathered
community needing little adjustment for wider usage. Others like
“You’re Worthy Of My Praise” grew over time and took more effort to
hone into an accessible song that the Church could use.
“Rest In His Promise” is a song that falls somewhere in the middle. The
beginning seeds of the song began for me at the end of a service. The
word that evening had been impacting, and as people began to respond to
the resulting work of the Spirit within them, I was called to the front
to facilitate a worship response that would be appropriate. Not wanting
to rush into anything, I just waited.

Redman Responds: A continuing Q & A *UPDATED* |

Do you feel that God "gives you songs"? What does this mean to you?
I hope he does. But I guess it’s always a case of ‘seeing in part’.
Sometimes people get silly and tell you ‘God gave me this song’ really
forcibly, as if it should have been Psalm 151. But on the other hand,
we do hope there is something, a Holy Spirit-breathed element in the
inspiration of the songs, whilst using the skills God had given us
musically and lyrically to craft and complete the song for
congregational use.

Worship Article: We Become What we Worship |

Is this true about all things?
Surely we can all draw simple lines between
what it is to really want, enjoy and love something or someone and what it would
mean to worship that thing or person? That’s assuming we all have a good
understanding of what it means to worship!
Make no mistake; the Bible, God’s own word, clearly lays out for us the
defining points of Worship and how worship of any object or person truly transforms
us. The Bible also happens to mention how the Worship of one, and only one,
particular person can transform us immeasurably for the better!

A king in line with any other King? A King different to all others? The King
of Kings!
What does this mean? How do most of us, completely unacquainted with the rule
of a King on Earth, understand this? More importantly, how do we offer up ourselves
in Worship to the King of all Kings? Here is offered a biblical insight in to how we should interpret our instruction
to Worship the King.
