Is being a Christian enough? |

I have an unpopular hobby – talking politics. No screaming, accusing or blaming – just talking/discussing. This presidential election is especially interesting in that the last two presidents have succeeded in polarizing Americans and as such, many people that I have spoken with, are voting for so many wrong reasons. For example, I know of people that are going to vote for the democratic nominee only because they HATE Bush. I know numerous people who are voting for Hillary Clinton simply because she’s a woman. How about African Americans voting for Obama because he’s African American? Are these sane and rational reasons? Many of you already know where I’m going with this. As born-again Christians, should we vote of Huckabee simply because he’s a Christian or not to vote for Romney because he’s a Mormon.
There’s a little story in the Old Testament, if you still consider the O.T. relevant, about a people who cried out for a King and got EXACTLY what THEY wanted, not what God wanted.
As Americans we have a tremendous honor, opportunity and responsibility to vote. Don’t be a one issue voter or vote for candidate because what they are or they are not.
If God can make an Ass talk I think He is big enough to work through a president regardless of race, gender or religion. Just a thought.
